I felt this poem. I never hatred my body; one or two things I disliked; but it was mainly rendered insignificant by me when I was young. "It's to stop my brains from trailing on the ground". Now, at 77, I value the fact that it hasn't given up the ghost yet and is remarkably healthy in view of the ways I have mistreated it. I am grateful to it.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, for some of my life it my body was just a transport vehicle and a container for my brain, too. Those were times of neglect rather than abuse. Your gratitude for your body is beautiful, thank you for sharing it!

Perhaps I should add that, in the first ten years of my 35 year career as a professional, I was the psychologist supporting six people for 2 or more years each: 4mtf, 2ftm. It was they who taught me the most.
