Thank you, Annette, such a beautiful piece. I am hopeful that we as a community can be proud of one another, making the hole where our parents' pride should have been proportionately smaller. Happy Pride!
As the father of a gay daughter I have become really invested in her journey. For a community like this to be available is so awesome. Being so invested has also helped me get in touch with my feelings in way I couldn’t have imagined. ❤️
Thank you so much Annette. As I travel this journey with her I become more invested. We bring our children into the world, raise them, support them, help them in any way we can and most importantly, love them for who they are❤️🌈
Beautiful story Thankyou for sharing. I have never made it to pride yet. I avoid anywhere with so many people. So I do pride from home and via the internet - looking forward to reading everyone’s stories this month.
Going to Price at least once is worth it—even if you dislike crowds. It’s such incredible affirmation of our humanity. But I do understand! Thanks for reading my story.
Thank you, Mr. Troy Ford, for creating a space to connect and grow an inclusive community. Annette's beautiful piece was the perfect essay to begin Pride month. This line especially resonated with me: "...pride is only pride when it’s unconditional." I would add: All anyone wants in this world is to love and be loved.
There has been so much progress since Stonewall. Ten years ago, I would never have thought we'd see marriage equality in the U.S. during my lifetime. But like the game "Mother May I," there is backward movement as well. I need to believe that every pushback is a sign that real change has been made, enough change to frighten those who would live in the past. There's much more to do, and sometimes I'm discouraged by how unfair that is. Then I read a post like this one, and I think: YES!
This was the perfect guest post for the inaugural grand opening of Pride Month and the Qstack Directory. Thanks Annette - for the memories, and the feels - much love to you! ❤️🏳️🌈🤗

May every parent put themselves on the same journey of love.

I think you're right on that, Robin - a tantrum when things don't stay the same...
