Theater Camp for Writers
A Qstack-sponsored online workshop in partnership with Writers in Relationship
Theater Camp for Writers
Qstack is pleased to announce we are sponsoring a free online edition of Theater Camp for Writers in collaboration with founder Chris Tebbetts, and Qstack friend Gail Marlene Schwartz of Writers in Relationship.
Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm Eastern
This is a free preview of the in-person weekend workshop April 16 -19 near Honesdale, PA.
We were so taken by the conversation between Chris and Gail which we cross-posted last week—and with the entire concept and ringing endorsements for this unique improv/writing event—that we asked Chris if we could host an online version that would give a taste of what to expect from the all-inclusive weekend in April at the beautiful Highlights Foundation campus in the Poconos Mountains of northwest Pennsylvania.

WHY THIS WORKSHOP?
What do acting, directing, and improv have to teach us as writers?
If you’re bringing characters to life on the page—that’s Acting.
If you’re imagining a story in progress—angles, visuals, action, zooming in to details, zooming out to views—that’s Directing.
If you’re developing ideas and first-drafting—that’s Improvisation.
Whether you’re noodling new ideas, have a manuscript or story in progress, or just want to have some fun looking at writing in a new way, join us for a 90-minute taste of exercises and techniques you can use to develop your craft in a safe, queer-friendly space on Sunday, February 8th from 2-3:30pm.
Get you free ticket at Eventbrite:
Participants will be invited (but not required) to submit scenes/excerpts from a work in progress (250-800 words, 1-3 pages) for consideration to be “produced” using volunteer actors (readers) from the class to take parts, read a few of these scenes, and offer constructive feedback to the authors in real time.
Scenes will have a focus on dialogue, action, and/or interaction between your characters. During the workshop, we will use these scenes to illustrate specific craft points with an emphasis on what’s working well.
Please note that this workshop is introvert- and extrovert-friendly. While we will be reading aloud in this workshop, no actual performance is required!
