🚨News & Announcements
CONGRATULATIONS are in order to who had some big news over in Qstack Chat a couple weeks ago. Not only was her book—The Other March Sisters—featured on LGBTQReads.com’s Most Anticipated LGBTQ+ Adult Fiction list, but she and co-authors Ally Malinenko and Liz Parker have also received a Top New Release Amazon banner. Releases February 25th - Click the pic to pre-order!
And Qstack ally and friend (or Kate, as her friends call her) also has published the simmering spy novel An Interpreter in Vienna which she first serialized on her Substack
.Here’s a synopsis: Marie Thibaut is a new interpreter for the French government in Vienna. Despite strange locals and diplomats alike, she is enamored by the promise of the utopian city. But Marie’s life is complicated when she attempts to be someone important and encounters strange historical crossroads. She enters the Viennese spy world and becomes disoriented in cultural exchanges and uncanny experiences. Will Marie’s mind succumb to phobias, layered meanings, and isolation or will she persevere and find the right allies with whom she may do good in the world?
And here’s my review: This is a tense, surreal, non-traditional thriller - it grips you through the eyes of Marie and all the complexities of her new life in Vienna. What starts out as merely a strange and reserved culture slowly turns sinister, the noose tightening through lockdown. No one is who they seem in this great cast of characters, with the classic "treasure" hunt turned on its head. The heroine definitely develops a taste for the excitement of international politics and intrigue, but you'll have to read it to find out if it proves her undoing.
Available through Lulu as an ebook or paperback.

Dancing Queen
by D. C. Wilkinson of
A whirling dervish
caught my attention
at The Saint.
Odd...
No one else
in sight,
I thought,
as I observed his
flowing white robe
spinning
on the dance floor.
Was it the poppers
that turned that mirror ball
into a spacecraft?
Laser beams
shooting down
on the fog
rising from the ground
were no match
for the bright
tiara-turned-halo
hovering
above his head.
He levitated toward me,
offered me
an impish smile,
pivoted,
and left me breathless.
I heard a sighing wind
and a translucent threshold
appeared
out of nowhere.
Heart pounding,
I saw him glow
and disappear
into the shimmering portal.
