Call for Submissions
Plus: Gail phones her senator's office, and The Poet Miranda writes to another
Sometimes in the hub and bub of life, we put things off until someday, and forget that today was once a someday, too.
Today I’m writing to ask for your best, most defiant, and most hopeful articles, essays, interviews, poems, short stories, photography, artwork, queer book and movie reviews for publication on Qstack.
Qstack has the reach to bring visibility to your work, and help you connect with other queers and allies who want to read what you’re writing.
This is more than just a reminder of something that you might get to someday—it’s an invitation to feature your work in front of over 6,000 subscribers and followers in the Qstack network.
Step right up, the Qstack spotlight could be on YOU!
We are OPEN to submissions for guest posts, and we accept previously published work.
Send us your:
Short stories - Poetry - Art - Essays and articles on cultural and community topics - Editorial/Opinion pieces - Interviews & Podcasts - Book, movie, and event reviews - Profiles of community organizations and leaders
PITCH an idea—we’re all ears!
Almost every day, there’s a new Note from a queer someone asking for connections and links and newsletters to subscribe to. If anything, we need to make our voices even louder to reach as many people in need of support as possible.
The queer writers and readers of Substack breathe life, courage, and hope into our community which, let’s face it, is under assault. Every essay you write, every queer writer you subscribe to, and every time you speak out is an act of resistance against the injustices being committed against us.
And remember: Qstack gladly accepts previously published work, including your Substack posts. If you don’t have something new, give us your most popular reruns—or something that you really loved which didn’t get as much attention as you wished.
Fill out the Submissions form HERE, or if you prefer—or have any questions—email me at mrtroywford@gmail.com.
I look forward to reading your stuff!

Gail phones her senator’s office
We could all take a page from Gail Marlene Schwartz’s playbook and start rattling cages—a powerful, inexpensive, and often overlooked strategy is to contact your congressional representatives directly, whether they are friendly to our cause or haven’t seen the light (yet.) Gail shows us how in the video below.
And if you are looking for a newsletter with practical tips for political action, Gail recommends:
Meanwhile, thepoetmiranda shared a very moving video in the Qstack Chat this week, and reminded us that sending letters of support to allies is almost as important as registering our dissent against antagonists.
An Open Letter to Iowa State Senator Tony Bisignano - Thank you for defending trans rights
